Youghal boat-building plant Safehaven Marine has attracted much attention when it launched two new craft in one week, writes Christy Parker.
Passers-by at the pontoon on Nealon’s Quay had several days viewing of the company’s latest Interceptor 48 model anchored alongside. The boat, with self-righting technology amongst its many assets, belongs to the company’s most popular design and the fortieth pilot boat constructed.
The vessel, which is worth about €700,000, has been purchased by Port of Cromarty Firth, in northern Scotland.
