‘Please leave your ego at the door.’
That’s the sign that first greets visitors to CrossFit Youghal – and it’s an apt one, writes Becky Grice.
CrossFit is the only sport where the loudest cheers are for those who finish last. It’s about community, accepting a challenge and supporting each other. It’s also about the “devil’s bike” (but more on that in a minute).
CrossFit Youghal is the culmination of years of hard work by Conor Coleman and Thomas Curran. Born and bred in Youghal, the duo met decades ago and, since then, have served together in the 4th Infantry Battalion, played rugby together and competed in countless triathlons and marathons.
